Impact100 Governance

Impact100 Governance Committee

Impact100 Wakatipu is led by our committee chairs who make up the Governance Committee. Together these six bring a complementary set of experience, to ensure we build a sustainable organisation that serves the needs of our supporters

and our community.

Tess, Joan, Euni, Clare, Jo Juliana

Clare Irons, Chairperson

Clare has an extensive background in philanthropy, grant management and non-profit relationships after many years working in the sector in the UK. Locally, Clare serves on the Board of Baskets of Blessing and has also served on the board of the Arrowtown Preschool.

Tess Wethey, Grant Committee Chair

After teaching in the primary and tertiary sectors, Tess retrained as a lawyer, spending twenty one years as a Partner at Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers.  During that period, Tess was a founding Director of MHP, now Mackersy Property, and now has a Consultancy role with Duncan Cotterill. Tess has been an Impact 100 member since 2020, on the Grant Committee for two years, and is a Wakatipu Community Foundation Ambassador, a mentor for the New Zealand Law Society and Business Mentors New Zealand, and supports the work of a number of local institutions including the Catalyst Trust and the Tucker Beach Wildlife Reserve.

Joan Kiernan

Having spent more than twenty years in management, accounting and banking in the UK and Hong Kong, Joan moved to Queenstown in 2001. Since then she has been involved at many levels in a range of businesses and not-for profit organisations, including over ten years as a partner in a wealth management business. Joan brings a wealth of granting experience to Impact100 after serving for eight years on the Board of Community Trust South, and has held a number of leadership roles in Rotary.  Joan has chaired the Grant Committee for four years before handing the reins over to Tess.

Euni Borrie, Supporters and Communications Chair

Before moving to Queenstown in 2011, Euni had a number of sales and marketing roles in multinational companies.  As a founding member of Impact100 she has been on both the Grants Committee and the Event committees so she knows how it all fits together.  Euni has a good working knowledge of local charities in her role as the as Grants and Scholarships Manager for the Wakatipu Community Foundation.

Jo Eddington,  Events Committee Chair

Jo is an entrepreneur, ideas person and connector!  She has a background in international sales, marketing and commercial experience gained at Microsoft,  and as CEO business owner and founder of Coastal Design Co NZ.  She was the learning events manager for Entrepreneurs Organisation NZ, and ran a number of successful fundraisers for Kings College in Auckland. Jo loves travel, food and wine and has quickly connected into the Whakatipu community through golf, real estate, and Impact100.

Juliana Fullerton - Smith

Juliana has been a member since 2022, and comes with a strong background in marketing and communications, including four years at TVNZ. During her long OE, she worked for The Daily Mail and Fortnum & Mason’s marketing and e-commerce departments. Back here in Queenstown she is a key part of Mountain Club leadership team, Co-Chair of St Josephs School PTA, and busy Mum to her young children.

Impact100 Wakatipu operates under the umbrella of the Wakatipu Community Foundation, who provide guidance and financial management, and operate as our trustees to fulfill the requirements of NZ Charities on our behalf. Funds are professionally managed by Craigs Investment Partners, and as such are audited on an annual basis as part of the WCF audit process.
