Voting 

Grant Voting Policy
This policy outlines Impact100 Whakatipu’s grant voting process at its annual Gala event.
1. Eligibility:
a) Only fully paid up supporters of Impact100 Whakatipu are eligible to vote.
b) All supporters have the right to vote within the voting timeline set out in the policy, whether or not they attend the Gala.
2. Timing:
a) Voting will be opened online at 8pm New Zealand 48 hours before the event.
b) Voting will close at 8pm New Zealand, after all Finalists have completed their presentations on the day of the event.
c) Votes received following the close of voting will not be counted.
3. Process:
a) The voting process will be communicated to all supporters in advance of the event.
b) Voting will be completed electronically via Survey Monkey.
c) Supporters will be asked to bring a smart device to the Gala dinner. Devices will be available for those who do not have smart devices.
d) Proxy votes will not be accepted.
e) Two grants of $100,000 each are available.
f) The Borda style of voting will be used to determine the two successful candidates.
g) Supporters will be asked to cast two votes. Vote 1 will be for their preferred winner and that vote will be given a weighting of two. Vote 2 will be for their second preferred winner and will be assigned a weighting of one.
f) Votes will be collated and pooled and the Finalists with the two highest vote counts will be awarded $100,000 each.
g) If there is a two-way draw for first, each of those Finalists will receive $100,000.
h) If there is a two-way draw for the second $100,000 grant, the candidate with the most 2-point votes will be awarded the second grant.
i) Supporters can not vote for the same organisation twice or their vote will be invalidated
j) Each Finalist is eligible for one $100,000 grant only.
4. Result verification and announcement:
a) Results will be tabulated and verified by an organisation or an appropriate individual independent of Impact100.
b) Results will be announced at the event, via email to supporters, and via news media outlets to the wider public.
